AI and learning in Ghanaian schools

MetaSchool AI assessment · GSMA Innovation Fund
The challenge

Understand how AI-supported learning works in real Ghanaian classrooms, beyond how a product performs on paper.

Our role

Built the Phase 1 project plan, governance framework, research protocol and interview guides; coordinated participating schools; and led interviews and focus groups. Teachers took part on behalf of children, alongside parents and school leaders, so the study could consider learners’ experiences responsibly.

The result

A clear research and governance system was in place, with evidence gathered from teachers, parents and school leaders.

Inclusive education with government

Craft Education x Ghana Education Service
The challenge

Run research and implementation on screening and support for learners with autism and intellectual developmental disabilities, while keeping clinical, technical and programme roles clear.

Our role

Introduced clearer review, reporting and decision systems; supported project managers; removed delivery blockers; and kept budgets and research goals in view.

The result

Stronger programme oversight, with Ghana Education Service requirements reflected in delivery decisions.

Open knowledge across two continents

Wikidata for Education · Wikimedia Foundation-supported, with UNESCO
The challenge

During the pandemic, teachers and learners struggled to find curriculum-matched learning content, especially in local languages.

Our role

Mapped national curricula to Wikipedia content in Ghana and Uruguay, coordinated educator campaigns, and redesigned the Kumasi campaign after a budget shortfall to protect delivery time and quality.

The result

Mapped 353 courses; ran 10 campaigns with 108 participants; supported 1,420 edits and 224 new contributions in English, Twi and Ga; and reached 3.35 million page views across improved content.

Digital learning for low connectivity schools

Tenacity Digital Textbooks
The challenge

Deliver four curriculum-aligned digital textbooks for rural Ethiopian Learning Labs, where internet access cannot be assumed.

Our role

As part of the Gebeya delivery team, coordinated content, audio, design, development, client reviews and testing for Books 9–12.
